After mentoring over 1,500 people inside our Premium Ghostwriting Academy (PGA), we’ve found there are some common questions every student asks before their Kickstart Call.
There are 4 main question areas:
• What is ghostwriting and how does it work?
• How do I land clients and make money as a ghostwriter?
• Will this work for you?
• How does the Premium Ghostwriting Academy work?
Dive in here:
Ghostwriting is where you write educational, thought-leadership style content for other people who have valuable knowledge to share—like investors, entrepreneurs, creators, executives and business owners.
Copywriting, on the other hand, focuses exclusively on selling products or services.
But ghostwriters help clients educate their customers, which is actually more universal and valuable than just the "selling" part of the customer journey.
Education removes the real bottleneck to landing a sale: confusion and a lack of understanding.
The reason people don’t buy is because they don’t understand:
• Their problem
• What's at stake if they don't solve it
• Or whether there is a path or solution to fix it
Until the customer is educated, a sale can’t happen.
So the ghostwriter’s edge is teaching first: clarify the problem, name the desired outcome, show the steps, then invite the next action.
This is why ghostwriting is so valuable (and in such high demand right now).
Ghostwriters write way more than just books.
You can ghostwrite:
• Email newsletters
• Educational Email Courses
• Thought leadership articles
• Social content (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, etc.)
And tons more.
In fact, everything in the list above is way more profitable than books (which usually take a long time to write and are mentally taxing).
But you don’t have to offer every service on that list.
You can make a lucrative living as a ghostwriter by just picking one of these services.
If you charge by project instead of by hour, you can charge $3,000-$10,000+ per project as a Premium Ghostwriter.
Inside our Premium Ghostwriting Academy, we teach you how to create Educational Email Courses—a hugely in-demand service. You can charge $5,000 for every Educational Email Course you build for clients—if you position the service correctly, anchor it to specific outcomes, and make an Irresistible Offer to the potential client (which we explain how to do inside PGA).
Now, not everyone will see these kind of results, but doing so would make you one of our Success Stories from inside PGA (see disclaimer below).
The best approach is to start with your network.
There are people in your life right now who either need your help as a ghostwriter or know someone who does. From there, you can use targeted outreach with our "Free Consulting" strategy, where you help prospects understand the problems the have and how to solve them before they hire you. This positions you as a trusted consultant rather than just “another writer.”
We have a detailed roadmap inside our Premium Ghostwriting Academy for you to follow to keep landing clients over and over again (which you can easily transfer to other businesses and services outside of ghostwriting, too).
Being able to write is a bonus, but not essential.
The most important skill is understanding how to positioning yourself as a business consultant who happens to be an all-star writer—someone who can spot business bottlenecks and use writing to solve them at scale.

Inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy, we show you how to do all of this.
We help you write clearly, think strategically for your client, and position yourself as a business consultant—even if you’ve never sold anything to anyone before.
You don't need to be the next Hemingway or Atwood.
What matters more is your ability to extract great ideas from clients and organize them so readers can easily consume them. This "hard skill" of writing is actually easy to learn—the bigger challenge is usually overcoming your own faulty beliefs around money and charging what you're worth as a writer.
Inside PGA, we help you build and practice both the hard skills & soft skills—everything from writing to client management, sales to outreach.
And, with our proven curriculum and your own dedicated 1-to-1 Success Coach, we help you demolish all the faulty beliefs holding you back.
Absolutely—it's an almost perfect side hustle.
Our Premium Ghostwriting Academy is structured so you can complete it in just 30 minutes per day (3.5 hours per week) around your full-time job. Many of our most successful students started while working 9-to-5 jobs and are using ghostwriting to create a lucrative side hustle to replace their full-time income.

Now, not everyone will see these kind of results, but doing so would make you one of our Success Stories from inside PGA (see disclaimer below).
To land clients, you don’t need to:
• Build an audience
• Create a personal brand
• Or post selfie videos on Instagram or TikTok
You can land your first client entirely through DMs and sales calls without posting endlessly on social media or showing your face.
Landing ghostwriting clients is about helping clients understand problems they have and positioning yourself as the solution—not building your own audience.
Anyone with expertise needs a ghostwriter:
• CTOs
• Plumbers
• Musicians
• Nutritionists
• Angel investors
• Yoga instructors
• Biotech startup founders
Even art museum curators:

All business owners or experts who have information that would be useful to other people need help scaling their message online.
In other words, ghostwriting clients are everywhere.
Ghostwriting is completely legal and ethical—it's a standard business practice.
Both the ghostwriter and client benefit:
1. You rent your pen to get paid to learn from industry leaders and practice writing.
2. They don’t have the time to write for themselves or learn how to write, but still need to create content.
It’s a win-win situation.
You don't need any formal writing degree or certification.
Clients care about the outcomes you deliver, not your credentials. The most important thing is positioning yourself as a writer who can solve the expensive problems they have in their business. If you understand these problems, can articulate them, and solve them for your client, it doesn’t matter if you majored in English or Nursing.
What matters are the outcomes you deliver for the customer.
Premium Ghostwriters charge by project and outcome, not by word or hour.
This can be in the form of a one-off project or a monthly retainer. The key is you’re delivering a result for your client. The time it takes or the number of words you write don’t matter. This freedom means you can create efficiencies in your ghostwriting business.
This is one of the key differences between an order-taking freelance writer and a Premium Ghostwriter.
Your job is to extract your client’s best ideas and organize them in a way that educates their audience effectively while maintaining their perspective and demonstrating their expertise.
And a part of this is nailing their voice.
Now, this doesn’t have to be exact and isn’t as complicated as you might think. There are 5 Voice Archetypes 99% of clients fall into, which we explain inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy.
And as you write for more and more clients, mimicking and constructing voices becomes a lot easier.
Ghostwriting is 100% remote and location-independent.
All you need is:
• A laptop
• An internet connection
• And the willingness to do the work
Students in our program work from all over the world, including non-native English speakers who successfully work with English-speaking clients.
Freelance writers are seen as commodities who write "anything" for "anyone" and charge by word or hour.
Premium Ghostwriters are one-person business owners who specialize in one service for one industry, strategize with their clients, and charge high-ticket prices for outcomes they create.
The answer is simple:
Premium Ghostwriters are in the "thinking" business, not just the "doing" business.
You're advising clients on positioning and strategy, extracting their best ideas, and solving business bottlenecks at scale—you're the complete package.
Regular content writers & freelance writers are just digital laborers, who take orders and work FOR the client, not WITH them.
You'll make more money ghostwriting in an industry you understand rather than trying to write for everyone.
In PGA, we call this your “Information Advantage”—and everyone has one. So you should focus on a niche or industry that you know a lot about AND is making money. And believe us, nearly every industry is making money (otherwise it wouldn’t exist!).
Now, in the beginning, we recommend looking for your first client in your network. This helps you get in some reps and allows you to practice these valuable skills before you move into a wider niche.
In short, no.
Why?
Because with 350+ million businesses worldwide who need ghostwriters, there's plenty of opportunity out there. It’s your job as a ghostwriter to go find it and sell your services to these businesses. But if you think your niche is saturated (because you’re on your 10th client rejection), then the real issue is usually a skill gap, not too much competition.
In other words, you need to work on a hard or soft skill and/or a faulty belief that’s holding you back.
We know this because we’ve mentored over 1,500 people to become Premium Ghostwriters.
And every day, we see wins from them like this one from Roman:

Now, not everyone will see these kind of results, but doing so would make you one of our Success Stories from inside PGA (see disclaimer below).
When building our own ghostwriting agencies, we worked with over 300 clients—and we never had one case of someone not paying their bill.
In PGA, we show you how to charge by project upfront and work with clients who have proven they can afford your services. The Free Consulting approach means you work with serious prospects who value what you do, and you'll learn specific strategies for handling payment issues.
A non-paying client doesn’t happen as often as you might think.
Yes, clients typically own the rights to the work since you're ghostwriting for them. This is standard in the industry and part of what they're paying for—the ability to the publish content under their name and build their personal brand.
Ghostwriting is extremely sustainable because you build lifelong relationships with powerful industry leaders, creating job security for life.
As you become more skilled, you can charge more, and there's always demand for people who can help others scale their message online. More importantly, as you deliver good work for well-connected people, they’re way more likely to refer you to their wider network, helping you find more high-paying clients without always having to fall back on cold outreach.
And this flywheel keeps spinning as you work with more and more clients.
You don't need to spend money on ads or build a personal brand.
The most effective approach is targeted outreach to your network and ideal prospects, positioning yourself as a business consultant who can solve their problems rather than trying a scattergun approach with paid ads.
Trust us, in the beginning, paid ads are a waste of time (we’re talking from experience!).
Ghostwriting can open doors to other opportunities since you'll work with industry leaders and build a strong network.
It also teaches you all the skills you need to thrive as a writer in the digital age:
• Building a personal brand
• Scaling ideas & concepts online
• Creating a digital presence for a business
• Forming your own opinions about a niche, which you can then go on to talk about under your own name
You’re basically getting paid to learn from industry leaders about their niche AND how to build a profitable digital presence which you can then use to build your own business.
However, many ghostwriters find it so lucrative and fulfilling that they stick with it long-term rather than treating it as a stepping stone.
The main challenge is that you don't get public credit for your work since it's published under the client's name.
But you do get paid well to do it, and if you wanted to start writing under your own name, you have tons of writing experience from your time as a ghostwriter.
Ghostwriting is almost recession-proof because businesses always need help educating their customers and scaling their message online.
And during tough economic times, companies often need even more help standing out and communicating their value effectively—exactly what a ghostwriter will help them achieve.
Look for a niche or industry that has money AND you know something about.
Instead of asking "Which niche is the most profitable?" focus on where you have specific knowledge that you can use to help clients solve expensive problems.
Because if you choose a “profitable” niche but don’t find it interesting, you’ll quickly resent the grind of having to write on topics you find boring or even hate.
Now, in the beginning, your niche is your network—start with people you already know to help you get your first few reps in as a ghostwriter. Then you can begin to specialize.
Inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy, we have everything you need to find these opportunities and land them as clients.
Nearly every industry you can think of will pay for a ghostwriter:
• SaaS companies
• YouTube creators
• Fitness instructors
• Marketing agencies
• Fractional CEOs and CFOs
• Roofing construction companies
• Health and occupational safety businesse
• Tree house building specialists (yes, really!)
These are all niches that ghostwriters inside PGA are working in.
The key isn't finding the "hottest" industry—it's finding clients who have something to sell and can rationalize investing in a ghostwriter.
So, if you think about it like that, there are 350 million businesses in the world that need help selling more of their products and services with the skills of a ghostwriter.
First, don’t offer every single service.
Instead, focus on providing ONE service, anchored to a specific outcome, and becoming an expert at delivering it.
In the Premium Ghostwriting Academy, we show you how to build and ghostwrite Educational Email Courses, an in-demand service that all businesses need in some form. We also explain how to position and package this service so you can charge high-ticket prices for it, while making it a no-brainer for the client.
Plus, we have a dedicated Packaging and Pricing bonus course which explains all the strategies Nicolas Cole used to scale his ghostwriting agency to over $3,000,000 in revenue.
In PGA, we talk a lot about how you should charge by project and outcome, not by word or hour.
With this framework, you can charge $5,000 for an Educational Email Course (see disclaimer below) when you focus on the value you provide rather than the time it takes. Because the customer doesn't care about hours—they care about outcomes, so price accordingly.
But 99% of the time, the real reason writers undercharge is because they have faulty beliefs around money. That’s why, inside PGA, you have your own dedicated Success Coach to help you move beyond these beliefs and start charging what you’re worth.

In the beginning, you shouldn't take on clients in industries you know nothing about.
You'll make more money ghostwriting in an industry you understand rather than trying to write for everyone.
But once you’ve mastered the art & business of ghostwriting in one niche, you can quickly apply all the frameworks you’ve learned to any industry. And, when you’re working with AI, you can get up to speed fast on an industry and start ghostwriting in it.
In other words, PGA gives you the foundation to ghostwrite in any industry you like, no matter your level of experience in that niche.
When you charge by project instead of by hour, you're incentivized to create efficiencies and deliver quality work faster:
• Set realistic deadlines upfront
• Focus on ONE service to get really good at it
• Use frameworks and templates to maintain writing quality
Inside PGA, we have all the writing templates, project management trackers, and customer fulfillment tips you need to keep the writing quality high and delight your clients.
The secret to charging more for your work?
Position yourself as a business consultant who happens to be an all-star writer, not just someone who writes words.
Show clients how you can solve expensive problems they have in their business at scale. When you demonstrate this kind of strategic value, higher retainers become easy to justify.
But the vast majority of the time, charging higher rates comes down to your own self-worth and your beliefs around money. This is why we have tons of resources and your own dedicated Success Coach to help you move beyond these faulty beliefs so you can charge more for your services.
There is a certain set of onboarding steps you need to take to delight the client:
• Creating a project dashboard
• Hosting your first onboarding call
• Sending regular (but not overwhelming) updates to the client
And tons more.
In PGA, we have a dedicated module to help you delight the client so that they love your work and either hire you for more projects or refer you to their network.
Be consistent, proactive, and reliable.
For example, if you’re a social ghostwriter, keep every deadline you commit to. Hold monthly reviews where you bring new content angles, show how their content is performing, and demonstrate a repurposing flywheel that stretches their ideas across multiple formats and platforms.
Clients keep ghostwriters when they remove small decisions from their plate while continuously expanding the value of their investment. In other words, position yourself as their go-to business consultant, not just someone who executes tasks or “writes words.” Because when clients find a writer they can trust, they want to hang onto you (and refer you to all their friends!).
Inside PGA, we give you everything you need to a) delight the client and b) look for new upsell opportunities within your existing clients.
It’s important to set clear boundaries up front and stick to them.
If a client consistently:
• Pushes beyond scope
• Makes unreasonable demands
• Or is difficult to work with in any other way
Have a direct and upfront conversation with them.
If they can't adjust, it's better to part ways professionally than struggle on with a bad client.
The Premium Ghostwriting Academy gives you everything you need to handle these client situations professionally and with tact—without damaging your reputation.
If you're charging $5,000 per project and delivering one project per month per client, you only need 2 clients to hit $10k/month (see disclaimer below).
This is why charging by project outcome instead of hourly rates is so powerful—you need fewer clients to reach your income goals.
Start with ONE service and become excellent at it, then naturally expand based on client needs:
• If you’re ghostwriting newsletters, upsell your client on social content.
• If you’re ghostwriting social content, upsell your client on a weekly newsletter.
• If you're ghostwriting articles, upsell your client on an Educational Email Course.
Master your core service first for a client before trying to upsell everything.
The key to upselling is spotting problems inside the client’s business (problems they might not even know about) and educating & future pacing these with your client. Inside PGA, we give you everything you need to help you spot upsell opportunities in your existing clients and land your next high-paying ghostwriting deal.
Freelance writers try to second-guess their clients, frantically trying to fix what THEY think is wrong with the content rather than asking for more specific, precise feedback.
Premium Ghostwriters work with their clients to get to the bottom of the feedback by asking certain questions. We have a module dedicated to delighting clients, so you know how to spot “perfectionist” clients and exactly how to deal with them.
The secret here is getting the client to articulate the exact issue they have with a piece.
This is why we recommend niching down on one service for one specific type of person.
This means you can create systems and templates that allow you to deliver efficiently. Don't try to write "anything" for "anyone"—when you specialize, you can handle more clients without burning out because you're not constantly context-switching between different types of work.
This is the secret to scaling yourself as a ghostwriter.
All you need to deliver for a client is Google Docs and an email address.
In other words, you don’t need expensive tools to get started.
We recommend:
• Loom
• Zoom
• Notion
• Google Docs
That’s it!
Now, you can use tools like Grammarly, Hemmingway Editor, and various AI platforms to increase your ghostwriting efficiency (and, inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy, we have a dedicated AI Prompt Hub to help you use AI to become more efficient).
If you want to pay for advanced plans for specific tools or software, you can.
These are only an extra $20 to $30 per month on average (think software for landing pages, advanced email automations, content analytics). But there are free options too, because we know not everyone wants to spend extra money right at the start of their ghostwriting journey.
That’s one of the upsides of being inside a community like PGA—you’re surrounded by other Premium Ghostwriters!
You can also find writers or VAs in:
• Other communities
• Referrals from your network
• Reaching out to writers/other freelancers you admire
Just make sure they can deliver the same quality content as you (and support them with your systems, templates, and processes).
Personal branding works well for ghostwriting since you're building relationships with industry leaders who want to work with trusted individuals.
However, if you plan to scale with subcontractors, a company name can help you position yourself as an agency rather than just a freelancer.
Your Success Coach can help you decide which path is right for you at the start of your PGA journey.
Inside PGA, we teach you several ways to keep a constant stream of clients:
• Cold & Warm Outreach with a Free Consulting approach
• Posting content regularly to attract people in your niche
• Upselling existing clients to solve their next, pressing problem
• Asking for referrals from existing clients
And more.
There really is an endless amount of opportunity out there—and we have proven ways for you to land them as clients!
This depends entirely on the structure of the project and where you are on the journey with a customer:
• If you’ve just a single project with a client, think about upselling them to a recurring service (e.g. a retainer for newsletter or social content ghostwriting).
• If you’re already on a retainer, look for ways to upsell your existing client to a one-off project to give yourself some “bonus” income.
The key to consistent income is not relying on just one client for all your income.
Define the scope clearly up front and stick to it.
When clients ask for work outside the agreed scope, politely explain that it's additional work and quote accordingly. Remember, you're a business owner AND consultant, not an order-taking freelance writer, who does whatever the client asks without boundaries.
In PGA, we give you all the guidance you need to handle client relationships.
Most of the time, clients will be happy to give you a testimonial.
Ask clients to provide testimonials about working with you and the results you delivered without mentioning specific content details or metrics.
You can also showcase metrics like "helped client increase newsletter open rates by 40%" without revealing confidential information about their business.
Track metrics like repeat business, referrals, and direct feedback on outcomes achieved.
If clients are getting results from your work (more engagement, better customer education, increased sales, etc.), they'll be satisfied.
Regular check-ins about performance can help you course-correct if needed.
Inside PGA, we have a dedicated module on how to delight and manage your clients. Your Success Coach, clinics, and the Hot Seats are always on hand to help with these questions, too.
This is where your role as a business consultant becomes crucial.
Help them identify their business bottlenecks and how you, as a ghostwriter, can solve them. Ask strategic questions about their audience, goals, and challenges rather than just waiting for them to tell you what to write.
Your clients are busy people, and ultimately they’ve paid you to give them direction and reduce the number of decisions they need to make. So make their life easy and recommend what they should be doing.
Extract their unique perspective, voice, and expertise through interviews and conversations.
Even if you're using similar frameworks with different clients, the content should reflect their specific knowledge and way of thinking. This is why understanding their industry and business is an advantage—you will be able to spot the subtle differences in positioning and/or advise your clients how to position themselves in their content and other ghostwritten assets.
Once you have done this a few times for clients, it becomes easier to repeat over and over again.
We’ve seen it time and time again:
Ghostwriters try to scale before they completely understand the delivery and fulfillment of their own service.
So here’s our advice:
• Master ONE service first
• Create systems and templates that maintain high quality standards
• Only hire subcontractors once you have the whole process mastered for yourself
Don't try to scale by offering more services by hiring more writers to deliver them.
Instead, scale by getting really good at one thing and delivering it efficiently to more clients using contractors to do the work for you.
Here are the most common questions we hear from people when they’re trying to decide if ghostwriting is for them:
The Premium Ghostwriting Academy is designed specifically for this—you can complete it in just 30 minutes per day (3.5 hours per week).
Many of our most successful students started while working full-time jobs, and ghostwriting is actually the perfect side hustle since you don't need to build an audience first.
Like John here, who reached the revenue milestone he’d been hoping to hit from the beginning as a ghostwriter.
This allowed him to finally quit his job & go all-in on his ghostwriting business.
In fact, he just announced his last day on LinkedIn:

Now, not everyone will see these kind of results, but doing so would make you one of our Success Stories from inside PGA (see disclaimer below).
Small niches can actually be more profitable if they have money and you know them well.
Art museum curators, roofing companies, and biotech startups might seem small and unusual, but they all need help scaling their message online. They need to attract customers to their business or institution and improve their digital presence.
So, if you’re worried your niche is “too small,” then you’re thinking about the wrong problem. Instead, you should be focusing on how you can find the people in your niche who are making money so they can afford the services of a ghostwriter (and yes, even charities and third sector organizations need and are willing to pay for a ghostwriter!).
And, once you get your clients results, you become the go-to ghostwriter in a particular niche—which opens up doors across the industry AND from other niches, too (because everyone wants what you’re delivering!).
Premium Ghostwriters are in the "thinking" business, not just the "doing" business.
AI can't replace the:
• Strategic thinking
• Business consultation
• And relationship-building
Premium Ghostwriters provide.
People who need ghostwriters don’t have the time to write, so they definitely don’t have the time to fiddle around with AI to get good outputs that reflect their thinking, voice, and expertise.

And the vast majority of writers using AI are using it wrong (we’ve seen this over and over again!).
Because 2-sentence prompts are not going to generate the quality outputs you need. Instead, you have to understand what to ask for in order to get high-quality outputs from AI:

In fact, mastering AI as a tool will give you an advantage over other writers who ignore it (or use it poorly)—you can use it to create efficiencies in your business, deliver content quickly, and get results for your clients faster.
So, we encourage all Premium Ghostwriters to embrace AI because AI won’t replace them, but writers using AI will.
Inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy, we have an AI Ghostwriter Hub which is packed with detailed prompts to help you start and scale a ghostwriting business (from niching down to writing content, client interviewing to sales scripting).
Most successful ghostwriters didn't start as professional writers.
In fact, the "hard skill" of writing is easy to learn, but understanding business problems and how to solve them is what clients really pay for. So, as long as you can articulate and solve those problems, you’re 70% of the way there.
Plus, inside PGA, we have all the writing templates you need to start your ghostwriting business.
No problem!
We show you our “Free Consulting” approach to sales—which is all about educating the prospect on a problem they have and how you can solve it together. It positions you as a trusted business advisor, not a sleazy salesperson.
This entire process feels natural rather than pushy—and it’s how we’ve generated over $3,000,000 in sales as ghostwriters.
No, you don’t have to have any kind of audience online.
You can land your first client entirely with DMs and sales calls without posting endlessly online. Building an audience is not the best way to land ghostwriting clients—direct outreach and tapping your existing network are. Yes, many ghostwriters post on social media to promote their services, but it isn’t essential.
In fact, 80% of the business at Nicolas Cole’s $3M ghostwriting agency came from cold outreach.
Ghostwriting is 100% location-independent, and many successful students work from all over the world.
Time zones can actually be an advantage since you can deliver work while your clients are sleeping (depending on their location), and most ghostwriting work is asynchronous anyway.
We have PGA students in:
• Italy
• India
• France
• Australia
• Germany
• The United Kingdom
And many other countries around the world.
Most writing programs focus only on the craft while ignoring the business side.
Or, if they do focus on the business side, they teach generic freelancing rather than Premium Ghostwriting as a specialized skill.
PGA combines both writing and business training with a specific focus on the art of ghostwriting and positioning yourself as a business consultant rather than a task-taker.
To help you succeed, we operate with 3 core pillars:
• Pillar 1: Unreasonable Accountability. In short, we don’t let any student fail. If you go more than three days without doing something in the program, you're going to get reminder emails until you report back to us. When we started this, we were worried people would get annoyed with us. But after a few days, people would come back to us and say, “Thank you so much, life got in the way, thanks for bringing me back.”
• Pillar 2: Finding The Bottleneck. If you’re stuck, it’s probably because you’re facing a bottleneck—and it’s our job to help you through it: Showing you the relevant part of the curriculum to help you get unstuck, coaching you through the problem in our clinics and Hot Seat calls, or showing you how other students have overcome the same bottleneck (and prove you can too). So rather than letting you get all in your head, “I gotta do this, I gotta do that” etc., we help you focus on the single bottleneck halting your progress. Because it's either a faulty belief or a skill deficiency—and we help you solve both.
• Pillar 3: Proactive Leadership. We create game plans for everyone who joins the program. We give a helping hand to make sure that they're doing the right thing. We're proactive in reaching out to them. We do the thinking ahead to make sure that they're never in a position to fail. We’re constantly refining and updating the curriculum and content to make sure you have everything you need to land your first client and enter the lucrative world of Premium Ghostwriting.
With the dedicated 1-to-1 coaching and accountability, we make sure you complete the program and take action rather than just consuming content.
Yes!
The tools are simple to use, and we have a dedicated Tech Coach and weekly Tech Clinics to help you with any technical questions that come up.
The Free Consulting approach we teach inside PGA feels like you’re helping someone rather than selling to them.
You're sharing valuable advice and insights, which feels natural for most people. Plus, you can start with written outreach through DMs and emails before moving to calls. You will get feedback on sales calls you run and you can ask any questions you have in the dedicated Slack channel, your private channel with your Success Coach, and on our weekly Sales Clinic.
Plus, there is a full module dedicated to Sales and how to run a sales call (with AI prompts to help!).
No!
Age becomes irrelevant when you demonstrate deep knowledge of their industry and can solve expensive problems they have. Many young ghostwriters work successfully with older executives because they bring fresh perspectives and understand digital marketing better than their clients.
Experience and industry knowledge are huge advantages in ghostwriting.
Older people often have deeper networks, more credibility, and better understanding of business problems and specific industries—all of which are valuable to clients who need strategic thinking, not just writing. Your expertise becomes your differentiating factor—which not all ghostwriters will have.
Your age is an advantage, not a disadvantage.
Many non-native English speakers successfully work with English-speaking clients.
Your industry expertise and strategic thinking matter more than perfect grammar, and you can always use editing tools or AI for final polish. Plus, businesses and industry leaders in your country will need help from ghostwriters, too.
Alvaro here is a great example.
He’s applying everything we teach in the Latam market—and he’s seeing great success:

Now, not everyone will see these kind of results, but doing so would make you one of our Success Stories from inside PGA (see disclaimer below).
When you charge by project instead of by hour, writing speed matters less to the client.
To improve your writing ability you can use our writing templates or you can also use our AI prompts to speed up the whole process. And because you’re focusing on ONE service, you’ll get faster through repetition.
“Writing slowly” is simply an excuse stopping you from getting started.
Yes!
Writing for money is a little bit different from writing for fun, but the core skills transfer.
The bigger shift is learning to think like a business consultant who solves problems through writing, which is something we teach specifically in the program. The writing skills you bring with you will be helpful, and when paired with our positioning, outreach, and sales frameworks, you’ll be able to quickly monetize your writing, too.
In PGA, we teach a simple outreach framework called “Your Niche Is Your Network.”
In the beginning, you contact people in your network to work with them directly or ask if they know anyone who needs a ghostwriter. We guarantee you know someone (or you know someone who knows someone!) who needs a ghostwriter. We take this approach because it helps you perfect our “Free Consulting” sales approach, and it is much easier to sell to someone who already knows, likes, and trusts you.
Once you’ve exhausted that avenue, you can then expand to cold outreach.
You don't have to post on social media every single day.
The most effective approach is targeted outreach to specific prospects—either in your network or in your chosen niche—who need your help.
In the beginning, building a personal brand or posting content daily can be a distraction from what matters the most:
Landing clients!
Your life experience and any industry knowledge you have is still valuable.
Many successful ghostwriters have gaps in traditional employment because they’ve even been freelancing for a while or they’ve taken a career break before finding ghostwriting. What’s important is you focus on what you know, not what you've missed, and you use this to help solve client problems.
Then the money will start flowing!
That’s the beauty of PGA!
We help you create your own high-value ghostwriting asset (an Educational Email Course) which you can show to prospective clients when you’re trying to land that first project. Plus, samples and testimonials aren’t as important as you might think.
Whenever you’re talking to prospective clients and they ask for a testimonial, just say:
“Because of the nature of ghostwriting, I can’t share specific names with you.”
Every time we said this, the prospective client was satisfied. And this is because asking for testimonials is something clients think they “should” do:
• It shows they’re doing their due diligence
• They want to know you’re a competent writer
• They want to feel they’re making the “right” decision for their business
And you can reassure them on all those points by educating them on the problem they have, articulating the solution, and positioning your service as the answer.
We show you how to do this inside PGA.
Premium Ghostwriters never compete on price.
When you position yourself as a business consultant who solves expensive problems through writing, price becomes less of an issue because the value is clear. Business owners aren’t looking to hire a cheap freelancer to help them “write words” & they have to keep tabs on and give orders to every day.
Instead, they want to hire a reliable business consultant who can get on with the job, deliver results, and help them solve their next problem—and they’re willing to pay premium rates for this.
We walk you through all these positioning tweaks inside PGA.

You never have to tell anyone (outside your clients!) that you’re a ghostwriter.
Ghostwriting naturally keeps you behind the scenes since the content is published under your client's name. You can operate quietly without building a public brand, focusing on landing clients from your network or from DMs and emails, rather than public marketing.
It’s a perfect way to make a lucrative living without building a personal brand online.
The short answer is… no!
The demand for ghostwriting is everywhere and has never been higher. With 350+ million businesses worldwide and everyone needing help scaling their message online, there's plenty of opportunity. Our outreach, sales, and client fulfillment approaches also build long-term relationships with clients that lead to referrals and repeat business, creating a sustainable pipeline.
Interest in ghostwriting keeps going up, too:

No!
Some of our most successful students have either never written online or have never ghostwritten for anyone before.
We give you all the writing templates, 1-to-1 feedback, and coaching you need to improve as a writer. Plus, there are AI prompts to help you speed up the client fulfillment process. And as you land more and more clients, you’ll become more confident as a writer.
Getting paid for your writing is probably the confidence boost you need!
We teach specific strategies for managing scope, handling revisions, and dealing with challenging situations.
Plus, you will have your dedicated Success Coach, Hot Seats, the Slack community, and the clinics to help you with any questions you might have.
While this is a common fear, it rarely happens.
The clients you land will be happy to pay you because we help you target people who need the help of ghostwriters. We teach that the writing doesn’t start until you’ve been paid a deposit or the full amount upfront, so don’t feel like you’ll ever be taken advantage of.
Then we’re here to show you that you CAN succeed as a Premium Ghostwriter.
We know from mentoring over 1,500 students inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy, that the thing that holds most people back is belief in themselves:

Being inside a program like PGA (alongside other people on their own journey as ghostwriters—landing their first clients or hitting another record income month) will literally rewire your brain. Once you see what’s possible, all you have to do is take the first step and take action and implement the proven roadmap you provide.
And if you’ve tried programs in the past and they failed, then now you have to make a decision about what kind of future you want for yourself.
The choice is yours.
The Premium Ghostwriting Academy is a 16-week program designed to take you from beginner to landing your first Premium Ghostwriting clients.
We've structured it so you complete assignments in the first 8 weeks, then focus entirely on client outreach in the last 8 weeks.
You can complete the program in just 30 minutes per day or 3.5 hours per week, making it perfect for people with full-time jobs.
We've designed PGA to fit around your existing schedule and other commitments without overwhelming you.
The core curriculum includes 10 modules covering everything you need to niche down as a Premium Ghostwriter, build your own Educational Email Course (the in-demand ghostwriting service we teach you how to build), sell your first Educational Email Course, delight the client, and then look for upsell opportunities.
Each module contains text and a video walkthrough. At the end of every module is an assignment that, once completed, is reviewed by your 1-to-1 Success Coach.
Alongside this, each module has bonus resources matched to the topic which can include:
• AI prompts
• Outreach trackers
• Writing templates
• Landing page templates
• Email automation templates
And tons more.
There are also bonus courses covering:
• Packaging and Pricing
• Social Ghostwriting
• A comprehensive AI Ghostwriting Hub with cutting-edge prompts
And tons more!
Each week, there are 5 clinics led by our Success Coaches covering every aspect of becoming a Premium Ghostwriter:
• Sales
• Mindset
• Outreach
• Niche & Content
• Tech & Automation
Plus, there is a weekly Hot Seat call where you can:
• Get coaching from Dickie Bush or Nicolas Cole
• Hear (and learn) from a PGA Ghost who’s crushing it
• Get a full-blown Masterclass on the latest trends and opportunities in the ghostwriting industry
If you miss a live call, then don’t worry—they’re all recorded and placed inside our Replay Vaults alongside the transcripts and any notes created by the host during the call.

Simply catch up with the call inside our Replay Vault.
When you join PGA, you have lifetime access to the curriculum and all the call recordings (both historic and future ones).
There’s enough video content there to keep you entertained for years!

The PGA program is hosted inside the community platform Skool.
Here you can:
• Access the core curriculum
• Watch replay recordings
• And access bonus materials
When you join, you will get an invite to our private Slack community to chat with your Success Coach, connect with the community, and ask us questions.
Typically, we aim to make sure you complete every assignment within the first 8 weeks.
This then leaves us the last 8 weeks to focus entirely on client outreach.
When you’re onboarded into PGA, we map all of this out with your Success Coach so we can make sure:
1. The program fits around your schedule
2. We give you unreasonable accountability along the way
We have one rule:
No Ghost gets left behind!
Check out what Elizabeth had to say about working with us inside PGA:

Our goal is to get you up and running as a Premium Ghostwriter within the first 8 weeks.
Students like Lane have landed their first $4,000 client after just 4 weeks, while others take the full 16 weeks or longer—it depends on how much time you can dedicate and how quickly you take action.
Now, not everyone will see these kind of results, but doing so would make you one of our Success Stories from inside PGA (see disclaimer below).

Here’s how to access support inside PGA:
• You get a private Slack channel with your dedicated Success Coach, the Head of Student Success, our Head of Ops, and co-founders Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole, where you can ask questions anytime.
• We also have comprehensive FAQ hubs covering every question that's ever been asked by 1,500+ students.
• You can ask questions in the Slack community (and there are always eager ghosts there willing to help others resolve any issue).
• Access to AI Cole—a Delphi bot loaded with everything Nicolas Cole has ever said—to help you navigate all the materials inside PGA and any question you might have about ghostwriting (from writing to outreach).
Remember, you also get 7 dedicated calls with your Success Coach.
Yes, you do!
Coaching is delivered in two main ways inside PGA:
Way 1: A dedicated, 1-to-1 Success Coach.
You can get support from them in two areas:
Area 1: Private Slack Channel.
When you join PGA, you are instantly put into a private Slack conversation with:
• Your dedicated Success Coach
• The Head of the Success Department, Katie Hardy
• Our Head of Student Success, Andrew Madison
• Our Head of Ops, Daniel Bustamante
• And co-founders Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole
This is where you can ask any and all questions you have about the program, and one of us will answer you ASAP.
Area 2: 1-to-1 Coaching Calls.
As well as this Slack channel, you also have an Onboarding Call with your Success Coach.
They will help you map out your approach to curriculum. Then there will be 6 more 1-on-1 calls where you can ask your Success Coach about any part of the curriculum and get feedback on your assignments. Together, you will review every single assignment and get feedback on your work.
Way 2: Live clinics & Hot Seats.
Every week, there are 5 live clinics and a Hot Seat where you can ask questions and get tailored coaching to suit your needs.
Each clinic is hosted by an expert in the topic and is held live with a group of other ghosts. So even if you don’t have a question, we highly recommend attending because you can learn from the other Ghosts getting coached on the call.
So it doesn’t matter if you have a question about niching down, writing content, or sales—there is someone always on hand to help out and coach you through whatever roadblock you’re encountering.
Assignment submission is done via Slack.
This is then picked up by your dedicated Success Coach, who reviews it and gives you feedback. Then you have a 1-on-1 call with them to have a deeper dive on it, as well as giving you an opportunity to get other advice and review your general progress through the program.
Our core Student Success pillar is Unreasonable Accountability—as we said, no Ghost gets left behind!

We respond to questions in your private Slack channel ASAP, typically within hours during business days. For assignment reviews, your Success Coach will get back to you quickly and schedule your follow-up call to ensure you stay on track.
Our community is based in Slack and is the most active ghostwriting community on the internet.
We’re not exaggerating. We also have sub-communities within the Slack channel, grouped by each Success Coach, so you have your own little space to interact with your Success Coach and other students assigned to that coach.
To give you a sense of how tight-knit these are, we have one coach called Brandon Peda. His students refer to themselves as the PETAGANG, and use this inside their Slack channel (it’s pretty cool!).
Not only that, but there are Slack channels where students:
• Introduce themselves
• Ask questions
• Share wins
• Share lessons learned
And TONS more.
And for context, people who have met inside PGA have gone on to co-found their own ghostwriting agencies—that’s the kind of networking and support you get from an active community like this.

You’d be amazed if we showed you our backend dashboard for all the metrics that we keep tabs on.
We track metrics like:
• Assignment completion
• Whether you’ve landed a paid client
• The last time you were active in Slack
• Our response time answering your questions
And tons more.
We believe this is the most comprehensive student success dashboard in the entire digital education space.
Each module includes bonus resources like AI prompts, outreach trackers, writing templates, landing page templates, and email automation templates. We give you everything you need to implement what you learn without starting from scratch.
Our dedicated Success Coach will work with you on your specific niche and industry during your 1-on-1 calls. We also have niche-specific clinics, and our community includes students from dozens of different industries who can share their experiences.
The program focuses heavily on positioning yourself as a business consultant who happens to be an all-star writer. You'll learn writing frameworks, but more importantly, how to think strategically about solving client problems and charging premium prices for outcomes.

Payment plan options are discussed during your strategy call with our team.
We want to make the program accessible while ensuring students are committed to getting results.
We don’t have a refund or guarantee policy.
Why?
Because we don’t want to make any kind of promise to you from the beginning that this is 100% going to work.
But what we do promise is that we will give you Unreasonable Accountability to help you become a Premium Ghostwriter—and we have mentored over 1,500 students through PGA at this point.
Our Net Promoter Score (a customer experience metric that measures customer loyalty and satisfaction) averages at 88.4, which is higher than:
• Zoom: 72
• Netflix: 67
• Ritz Carlton: 68
We—Dickie, Cole, your Success Coaches, & the rest of the PGA team—are in the trenches with you right from the very beginning, helping you take action to become a Premium Ghostwriter.
Results vary significantly based on effort and implementation, but students can land $4,000-$8,000 projects within their first few months.
Some hit $10k+ months within their first year, while others like Matthew Brown make $40k/month as Premium Ghostwriters.
Now, not everyone will see these kind of results, but doing so would make you one of our Success Stories from inside PGA (see disclaimer below).
After your 16 weeks in the program, you keep lifetime access to the curriculum and all the replays stored inside Skool. This includes Hot Seats and the clinics we host during the week.
You will no longer have access to Slack, your Success Coach, and you will no longer be able to request feedback on Hot Seats.
To recap:
After your 16 weeks in the program, you keep lifetime access to the curriculum and all the replays stored inside Skool. This includes Hot Seats and the clinics we host during the week.
From there, we have options for you to retain access to the Slack community, your success coach, and attend the weekly clinics. We even have a more advanced route for those that want to scale into a high-powered agency.
We’ll help you make this decision at the end of the 16 weeks to make sure you continue to get the most out of the available resources, coaching, and calls.
Yes!
We’re going to do every single thing we can to get you back on track if you fall off the wagon or fall behind. We are committed to you and we want to bring you Unreasonable Accountability. Once you enter the program, we know exactly where you are in it (you should see our Student Progress Dashboard—it’s insane!) so we’re always monitoring how people are progressing.
We know results only happen when you follow through and take ACTION.
And we have everything set up to make sure you do take the next right step—and we’re ready to guide you all the way.

Yes!
You can find some Deep Dives from previous PGA students on our website here.

You can start immediately after enrolling.
We’ll get your Onboarding Call booked with your Student Success coach and you can attend the weekly Welcome Call where you can hear from our Head of Success, Katie Hardy. She’ll walk you through everything you need to know about PGA.
Plus, as soon as you join, your private Slack Channel with your dedicated Success Coach is created—so you can hit the ground running right away.
There is a ton of information inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy—that’s why we believe it’s the most comprehensive ghostwriting program on the internet.
Now, you won’t experience every scenario covered by all that information in your first 16 weeks—so that’s why we give you lifetime access to the curriculum and call replays so you can continue to return to the materials and implement what you need, exactly when you need it.
We’re big believers in learning “just in case” rather than “just in time,” so you can always return to the materials to find out the answers to your question.
Inside PGA, we have a prompt for nearly every part of the curriculum.
Our dedicated AI Ghostwriter Hub will help you with your positioning, niching down, offers, client fulfillment & ghostwriting, content creation, sales, and more.
In other words, you can automate a lot of your business with AI using the prompts we provide.
Yes!
Inside the Premium Ghostwriting Academy, we have a dedicated course on Social Ghostwriting: Social Ghostwriting Accelerator. This is designed to help you find, land, and fulfill on social ghostwriting clients.
The concepts from the core curriculum, while focused on Educational Email Courses, can be taken and applied to nearly every ghostwriting service. In fact, we get you to sell EECs because they teach you all the core skills of becoming a Premium Ghostwriter.
